Jiska Danda Uska Bhainsh
I was waiting in Sealdah station for the Rajdhani Express to arrive from Delhi. The train was late so I strayed towards the local train section.A huge avalanche of people were fighting with each other to get into a waiting train, the tough ones got in first, the physically week people like women,children,old got in last. So the sturdy ones occupied the seats and the week were kept standing. This scene reminded me of my conversation with my friend Marl Karx in a small tea shop by the side of Ganges. He had commented that this world throughout the ages have been ruled by Danda, all the isms, knowledge is the power etc is all bull. Marl has this habit of coming out with outlandish postulations but quite often those hit the bulls eye. Here I could see the brute force has prevailed to get seat in a local train.
Laloo came to power through a proper election but literary he ruled the state with a Danda which he was flouting in front of TV cameras. Elsewhere the cadres of left, right, centre go out in hordes and routinely burn down the houses of opposition in rural India. You better fall in line or there is Danda for you….the party in power digs out century old cases to harass the opposion, that’s normal.
The trade unions outnumber the management by their sheer number so they can fearlessly Gherao you…the vocal cord is lent to them by the outside elements. Somehow this trick failed in Hardwar factory of Ramdeo and 133 labours got the sack. The spat between Brinda and Ramdeo has the making of a Bollywood potboiler. Here is a Teleguru who taught the right method of breathing to the nation is pitted against a fire brand political leader. The sacked labours passed on some samples to Brinda and all hell broke up. Now we have to see that who holds the danda….as of now it is Guruji with his millions of followers…a recent sms poll conducted by TV a channel showed that 75% of the viewers rubbished the claim of Brinda.
The danda charge of Haryana police in Gurgaon was beamed for days, some leaders shouted hoarse against it in front of TV cameras,….what was the result?...zuck…danda ruled.
USA with its powerful danda of Dollar backed by supertech army rules the world. A Chevaz here and a party their spit venom on USA but it does not care…every body needs all powerful dollars….
All these things remind me of the cave painting which showed a prehistoric man dragging his woman by hair with a club in hand…Jiska Danda Uska Bhainsh still rules. Marl Karx was right.
